At first most of the mountains were formed by rock and then due to climate and TREE, rock turned into soil. Initially the tree was small and kept trying to find nutrients from the soil through its roots. The ends of the roots secrete enzymes to decompose rocks. As time went on the tree got bigger, the roots got longer and the soil got thicker.
There are more trees so that the whole mountain is covered with trees and to add nutrients and catch rainwater then leaves and twigs piled up at the base of the forest to form litter. All organisms like to live in litter and the dung and bodies of these animals will become fertilizer, especially N and P.
Rain energy that falls is held by the tree canopy and falls down and into the litter and continues to replenish groundwater. This groundwater will come out as water springs around the mountain. And so as not to slide, the roots of the tree fibers hold the soil and the roots of its tributaries as an “anchor”.
Legal or illegal deforestation will cause the land attached to the slopes of the mountain to become CRITICAL and ready to landslide, and rainwater can’t seep into the ground but flows as surface water which will turn into flooding. Simply put, if our head is full of hair then we pour water, some of the water will be stored in the hair, on the other hand, if the head is bald, all the water will flow.
When it flows, it erodes and brings the soil into lakes, reservoirs, reservoirs and rivers so that there will be silting and consequently the carrying capacity will be reduced. The lake will shrink and the availability of water will decrease. The capacity of the reservoir will decrease and will have an impact on the availability of water for irrigation and clean water and reduce the energy capacity of PLTA (hydroelectric power plant). The dew will be shallow and will no longer function. Silting the river will result in flooding around the river.
As long as there is no effort to forest the mountains then erosion, landslides, flash floods and floods as well as water shortages will occur more frequently and the greater their strength and WILL BE WIDE.
